Top 5 Reasons to Go Visit Tuscany

If you’re looking to spend your next vacation in Tuscany, you’ll be glad to hear that there are a wide variety of things that make this region such a remarkable place. From the amazing scenery, to the rich culture and historic locations; there’s something for everyone in this part of Italy. Here are a few examples of why you should consider visiting.

1 – The stunning countryside

In general, when you think of Tuscany, an image of a beautiful landscape will come to mind – one featuring the cypress trees that the region is so well known for, rolling hills, and some amazing countryside. Chianti and Val d’Orcia are two of the best examples of what’s on offer (this is why most photographs you see of the Tuscan countryside are taken in these locations).

These are some of the best places to go for a quiet, quaint vacation, so why not unwind and go on a tour around the region?

2 – A beautiful coastline

Not many people consider the beautiful coastline here – but it’s well worth seeing. The southern side of Tuscany is home to several amazing coastal locations, such as Talamone and Monte Argentario. There are also a number of great islands in the area too, and most would agree that Elba and Pianosa are well worth a visit.

3 – The magnificent wines

Brunello di Montalcino and Cianti Classico are just two of the many famous red wines that come from the region of Tuscany. With these truly delicious wines and many more varieties to try (such as Tignanello), is it any wonder that so many people come to Tuscany just for the tastes?

Be sure to take a tour of one of the many amazing wineries and vineyards – and don’t forget to participate in a little wine tasting while you’re there.

4 – Traditional Tuscan dishes

While not many people come to Tuscany solely for the food, the traditional meals here (like ribollita and Tuscan lasagna) certainly add to the experience. Typically, Tuscan meals are known for being simple, tasty, and made with the finest ingredients.

Most dishes are made with natural and fresh ingredients (as well as olive oil), and go down perfectly with a glass of wine.

5 – Tuscany’s rich history and culture

Tuscany is home to many cities that are full of culture and history, which only makes this region even more spectacular. The many castles, monasteries, and fortifications offer visitors a chance to step back in time and see what life was like many years ago.

For anyone who wants to learn more about Tuscany’s past, there are many great museums open to tourists, too.
