Most art lovers will find that this is the perfect destination for them, thanks to all the wonderful structures, sculptures, paintings, and more on offer.

You’ll see that almost every part of the region has some history in the world of art (plenty of amazing masterpieces were produced here during the Renaissance era), which practically any visitor can enjoy – but it takes a real fan of art to appreciate the beauty that Tuscany has to offer. Here are just a few examples of incredible cities that you’ll definitely want to check out in this part of Italy.

1 – Florence

We’re certain that you’ll know of Florence; a city that is commonly considered to be the birthplace of the Renaissance. For this reason alone, the art here is well known for being truly fantastic. It’s also considered to be one of the most beautiful destinations in the whole world, thanks to its stunning architecture and artistic heritage. From the many pieces of Renaissance art, to the buildings; there are a lot of things that have made Florence the beloved location that it is today.

There are many great things to see and do, like visiting the Galleria degli Uffizi (also known as the Uffizi gallery in English), or palazzo Pitti, an awesome Renaissance palace that’s hard to miss. 2 – Lucca

The walls that surround Lucca are one of the city’s most well known features; since they were built during the Renaissance and are still intact today. However, what’s inside these walls is sure to blow you away, too. Lucca is home to a variety of interesting things to see and do, like:

• Duomo di San Martino (The Cathedral of San Martino) – This Roman Catholic cathedral is one of the greatest religious sites in the city and it simply can’t be overlooked
• The National Museum of Palazzo Mansi – This is known for being one of the best art museums around, thanks to its incredible post 19^th century art collection, as well as the unrivalled tapestry collection
• C.C.A – With 5 floors, 8 exhibition rooms, and plenty of awesome pieces of contemporary and modern art on display, it’s not hard to see why the The Lucca Centre of Contemporary Art (Lu.C.C.A) is worth a visit
• Torre delle Ore (the Clock Tower) – There may be many amazing site that you’ll need to check out while here, but one that we’re sure you won’t be able to miss while exploring Via Fillungo (in central Lucca) is the iconic Clock Tower

3 – Pisa

One of the most iconic landmarks of Tuscany is the Leaning Tower of Pisa – but you’re likely to find a lot more in the city of Pisa to peruse during your trip.

The National Museum of San Matteo (Italian: Museo Nazionale di San Matteo) is a must see for any art fans. Home to paintings, sculptures, and more from some of history’s greatest Tuscan artists (all of which come from a time between the 12^th and 15^th century), it’s not hard to see why this site is often considered a bucket list essential.

If you’re interested in learning a little more about the history of the city, you may want to visit one of the many museums here, like the Sinopie Museum (which is home to sinopias from camposanto) or National Museum of the Royal Palace (which is home to a collection of belongings of the original owners; from paintings, to pieces of armor).

The local architecture is also stunning, which you may have already guessed if you’ve taken a closer look at the beauty of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Landmarks like the Piazza del Duomo and St. Sixtus are just two examples of incredible places you’ll want to see while visiting.

4 – Siena

From the historic center of the city (which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), to the many fantastic pieces of art that can be seen here; there’s a lot that makes Siena a great location for art lovers. So many people come for the delicious cuisine, amazing art, and inspiring architecture – and if this is what you’re looking for, it likely won’t disappoint.

The Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena for example is home to a variety of pieces of art, coming from legendary Sienese artists like Domenico Beccafumi, Lorenzo Lotto, Fra Bartolomeo, and Domenico di Bartolo.

You’ll also want to check out the Siena Cathedral – it’s best known for its stunning exterior and the awesome frescoes within. These well-preserved paintings were made by Ghirlandaio and Pinturicchio, two of the greatest artists of their time.
